R e v i e w ♡ GEO CK106 Black x E.O.S Ice Pink

♡ M a p l e L e n s ♡

I actually had not heard about MapleLens before a little mail landed in my inbox not too long ago. The webshop's design reminds me of Pinkyparadise, although I must admit I find MapleLens cleaner and a bit easier to navigate (no hard feelings, Pinky).

You'll find a variety of G&G Dueba, E.O.S, Geo Medical and Vassen lenses once you start to investigate the webshop. Four brands may not seem like a huge assortment, but with all the different colors, there are still a lot of models to find. Besides, if you have a hard time deciding, a smaller range is probably a good thing.

I do, however, miss the really, really big, dolly lenses - I'm a sucker for big sparkly eyes. It would have been nice to see lenses larger than 15 mm. I also notice the prescription lenses don't go above / below (?) ~ 6.00 . . . I'm not sure what that means, as I don't need prescription lenses, but I have seen ~ 8.00 prescription lenses before, so I thought I should mention it.

With the customer service and shipping being so good, I definitely recommend this shop. The staff have been nothing but nice to me ever since that first email, and I was surprised when I got a notification slip from the post office, so shortly after placing my order.

Go take a look and create your own opinion!
Here's a little summary and some points, easier to look at:

Super happy I found these, I've missed black lenses like crazy,
these are kind of perfect. They're very simple, as you can see, which means they blend well with the color underneath - in this case, my actual eyecolor.

Sadly, they're not as comfortable as the other pair I chose,

t u t o r i a l x r e v i e w ♡ glitter eye makeup and Princess Pinky Eclipse, from Pinkyparadise.com!

Tutorial time, finally!
But first things first, let me introduce you to my new favorite pair of lenses.

P r i n c e s s P i n k y E c l i p s e

Firstly, let me just say these look wonderful on blue eyes. They're inspired by the movie Frozen, and look really cartoon-ish in a way, reminds me of crystals too. Which is something Frozen also reminds me of.

Diameter: 14,5 mm
Water content: 38 %
Duration: One year disposal

If you ask me, they actually look bigger than 14,5 mm, which I like, because I love lenses with that effect. Big eyes, I'm a fan. They're very comfortable too, although after a long day, they do get a bit itchy. But, as we all know, that's the case with most lenses.

Design: 10/10
Comfort: 7/10
General score: 9/10

I highly recommend these for blue eyes, in particular, they're also available in brown, green and blue, for example. Check the whole series out -- here!

The grey ones are found right here, for 28 USD, which is a good price for a good pair of lenses. Absolutely worth it. And Pinkyparadise have always offered great customer service, so you won't regret it.

If you apply coupon code irodohieru you will also get a mystery gift and a cute animal themed lens case! ♡

G l i t t e r ♡ e y e ♡ m a k e u p

This one has actually been requested, which makes me feel kind of fuzzy on the inside, since it means someone out there thinks I've done something good enough to share. It's an honor, so thank you very much. I'll do my best, okay. ♪

Firstly, I would like to thank Emilia, who is one of my best friends and also known as Pastelbat, for opening my eyes and showing me this kind of makeup. She threw it on my face when I modeled for her school's fashion show, and I wouldn't know how to do it or even get the idea to try it myself, if she hadn't glittered me up. So thank you, Buttis!

Secondly, I would have loved to make a video of this, but the MacBook I used to film and edit my previous YouTube videos with, was actually just a rental laptop from hairdressing school - which means I had to give it back, obviously. Total heartbreak. The HP Envy I weirdly enough managed to save up to promised a good webcam but honestly, it sucks camel fur. So I'm kind of screwed until I can afford a better webcam, or camera, to record my nonsense blabbering and confused instructions with.

I actually think this one will be better written down though, so let's stay positive.
And let's get started!

What I love about this makeup, is how versatile it actually is. You can add as much or as little as you want, go with any color you like, or why not all colors you like... and it is still super simple.

So let us begin with step one;

Step one ♡ Base makeup

I'm not going to get very detailed here and describe exactly how I apply my everyday makeup. Why? Because it is not important - apply your own standard makeup.

You might also want to dust the area you're going to cover with glitter with some eyeshadow, but I chose not to do that this time. I'm going to apply eyeshadow on top of the first layer of glitter. It all depends on how much colorful you want to get.

And please, make sure to control your eyebrows to avoid weird unexpected photobombs when you're trying to take nice pictures for your blog. I'm looking at you, strange hair to the left.

My routine is as follows:
1. Circle lenses
2. Eyeshadow (you can see how I apply it on the picture)
3. Eyeliner and mascara
4. False lashes
5. More eyeshadow under the bottom line of lashes
6. Blush and eyebrows

Tip: If you want some inspiration, go YouTube-ing!
There are so, so many great tutorials out there, so go nuts.

Step two ♡ Tools

 1. Eyeshadow. For this tutorial, I decided to go with a grey scale, which is why I picked this eyeshadow palette from H&M. You can go with any color you want, however, which means you can go with any eyeshadow you want!

2. A foundation or blush brush. The one I use is from Mac. It's a foundation brush originally, but it's very soft and I discovered it is perfect for this kind of makeup, and also for applying blush.

3. Eyelash glue. I use Ardell's LashGrip, but you can go with any brand you like. Just make sure you're not allergic or sensitive!

4. A regular paintbrush. A makeup brush will work too, but maybe you don't want to ruin it, like I did the first two times I did this makeup. There will be a lot of glue and glitter - a paintbrush is more up for the task.

5. Something bowl-like. I went with a ceramic bowl we usually keep butter in. So, anything works.

6. Glitter! The most important thing you need to get your hands on, obviously. For this tutorial, I only used these glitter flakes from a local arts and crafts supply store - Panduro Hobby.

The glitter flakes are great if you want an airy, feather or crystal-like result, but I suggest you take a trip to your nearest hobby store and see what they have to offer, inhale some inspiration and ideas. Maybe you'd like to decorate your cheeks with hearts, stars or snowflakes. Endless possibilities!

You don't have to limit yourself to just one type or color of glitter either. Mix and match however you want, and don't worry if you're unhappy with the result. Just learn from your mistake and move on, try something else.

Step three ♡ Glue

Squirt out some glue right about there and brush it out with your paintbrush. You don't need to be too careful. As long as you use a good amount of glue, it doesn't need to be even and pretty. Start by the corner of your eye, and cover the area where you want to apply the glitter. Don't be afraid to get close to your eyelashes or makeup.

Step four ♡ Glitter

Now, for some reason, my dear old Nikon refused to cooperate and focus on... well, any part of this picture, but you can see that I, after pouring the glitter flakes into the little bowl, dipped the same paintbrush I used for the glue in the glitter.

You may think the glitter will just stick to the glue on the brush, but it won't. Pat the glittery brush against the glue on your cheek, and it will hop right onto your skin!

Side note; Do you see how shimmery these glitter flakes are? Ahh. ♪

Apply some more glue on top of the first layer of glitter, then dip and pat on some more glitter, keep going until you're happy with the result. Glue, glitter, glue. The more the better. Remember, you don't want it to fall off.

Get messy! Once the glue dries and turns transparent, it'll look surprisingly neat and tidy.

Step five ♡ Repeat and polish!

This step is almost too obvious, but this would not be a proper tutorial if I skipped it.
Repeat what you just did on the right or left side, on the opposite side.

1. Apply a layer of glue.
2. Dip your paintbrush in glitter.
3. Pat on the glitter with the brush.
4. Glitter, glue, glitter, glue...
5. Make sure you're happy with both sides.
6. Drown in glitter and die a fabulous death.

Step six ♡ Eyeshadow

Use the brush of your choice - in my case, my foundation brush - and dip it in the eyeshadow of your choice. In my case, white. Pat it lightly all over the area, and don't worry about hiding too much of your base makeup - you can always add more eyeliner, for example, later on.

The big, soft brush is perfect for applying a dusty layer of eyeshadow over the glitter and base makeup, without irritating the eyes or messing anything up. I highly recommend it. I found mine on eBay for basically no money at all.

I finished by adding just a little bit of grey eyeshadow. You can also apply more glitter here, if you want to.

 Step seven ♡ Finishing touches

You can't spend too much time on finishing touches, if you ask me, so use the tools I have given you here and perfect your makeup until you're 100% satisfied and feeling awesome. And if you think it's hard - practice!

Add some more glitter, add some more eyeshadow, add some more dark colors to your eyelids to give your base makeup a little push through the glitter...

Step eight ♡ Final result

So there you go!
Have an awkward picture of me awkwardly posing to show you the result.

I'm a little bit unhappy with the left side here on this picture, as it is a bit uneven, but both you and I can just ignore it and simply avoid this little mistake in the future, right?

Take a look at the different pictures I posted at the beginning of this tutorial again, and remember the different colors and types of glitter you can go with. I chose white this time, to stay neutral, but colorful cheeks are my new favorite thing, so I suggest you go nuts. You can create all kinds of different looks with this technique, once you master it - which you will, because it is so, so easy.

Have fun, and please write me and show me the result here if you decide to give it a try!
Really, I'd love to see it. ♪

THE ♡ END

I hope this tutorial was somewhat helpful for someone out there, and I would like to thank you all for stopping by and for reading my blog. I really appreciate your decision to spend some time with me!

Now I'm going to do what I always do and end this day with an unhealthy amount of tea, before falling asleep in front of Desperate Housewives. Have a lovely summer until next time, everyone! I wish you sunshine and happiness and all of that crap. Hugs! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ ♡

J u n e ♡ o b s e s s i o n s

Dear readers,
Today we are going to talk about obsessions.

No, I am not talking about Orange Is the New Black. Even if that is an even bigger obsession than the obsession I have dedicated this post to.

This is very out of context, and I apologize, but I really have to share.

It's seriously getting embarrassing. I've spent the past few days on the couch, drinking tea, laughing, crying, making funny noises, blowing my nose, wheezing out my feels and having long conversations with myself about how much I love that damn Netflix masterpiece. Orange Is the New Black has been my life and my wife for the past few days. I haven't replied to texts, caught up with my Twitter feed, I just put my phone in the other room and let my emotions run wild. And I mean a lot of emotions.

Let me add even more details to this already shameful picture;

Season two was released this Friday. While preparing for season two, I spent both Wednesday and Thursday watching season one, again. When I was done with season one, the countdown clock said that there were still 9 hours left. No, I did not stare at it for 9 hours. I'm not that crazy. I slept for about 8.5 hours, made some tea, stared at the clock for 15 minutes.

Then I binge-watched season two, cried, laughed, everything I mentioned above, and when it was over I felt empty and dead inside.

So now I'm watching season one again.
I will not judge you if you judge me for this, no.

Please watch Orange Is the New Black and talk to me about it. Okay?
Thank you. Moving on.

♡

I am a person who easily gets obsessed with things, to sum it all up. Now it's time to talk fashion. Fashion obsessions. Probably not as scary as the obsession I've just finished ranting about.

It can be anything, a hat, those skeleton tights I wore for like two years straight, a color, a pattern, you get it. I see something, my brain goes "SPECTACULAR" and I immediately need a whole new wardrobe and feel like my entire life has been a lie.

It's terrible, I feel like an addict who can't decide what to be addicted to.

Anyhow, to get to the point; this happened very recently, when I was browsing Tokyo Fashion's Tumblr and stumbled upon this fabulous lady.

♡

For the past few months, I've been all about lace and eyepatches, swirly patterns, more elegant things, but now I suddenly feel like drowning myself in black and white, wear futuristic skirts and plastic platform shoes.

I repeat; it feels like my entire life has been a lie and I need a whole new wardrobe. Preferably now.

Being on a tight budget means I will not be able to follow my new dream, however, which is probably a good thing. I have bought some new things, for some of my savings, but you know what, working with what I've already got is so much better - this is what I tell myself to calm my inner shopaholic.

Inspiration is always good, even if you can't get your hands on everything new you might want. I haven't felt excited about fashion at all lately, but this gave me a real kick in the butt. As you could see in my last entry, I have already slipped back to the more street-y side of my wardrobe, even if I weren't completely happy with how those two simple outfits turned out.

Now, as Sheinside.com has asked me to make another collage for them, I thought I'd take this opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and create a collage inspired by my new found inspiration.

Here we go!

♡ 1 ♡ 2 ♡ 3 ♡ 4 ♡ 5 ♡

Maybe this collage and the links will help one or two of you, if my insanity has somehow rubbed off on you. My fingers are very itchy, but I will contain myself. Even if I can't get everything at the moment, gathering as much inspiration as possible is always a good idea!

That's a fashion tip.
I am getting better at this fashion blogging thing.

Anyhow. I apologize for potential typos and other strange things you may have come across in this post. I have sinusitis, apparently, so my head is in outer space while I'm here, on the couch, writing a bunch of nonsense. This is also my last week of freedom before I start working, so I really hope to get better in a few days. Wish me luck.

I hope you're all having a great week!
Hugs and kisses 'til next time, ok. ♪

"What's the name of your fashion style?"
"Schizophrenic"

What do you think? Should I?
I probably shouldn't.

Just a month ago I was obsessed with lace and  more elegant stuff, now I have rediscovered my love for knitted hats, padlocks and pins, more street-y things in black and white. I have also started dipping my face in glitter. And I love it. I have to tell you, I really didn't see this one coming. "Pink" and "glitter" are words I'm not too familiar with fashion wise, I'm too "svart och svår" for cute stuff. That's Swedish for "dark and twisted", but it sounds so much better in Swedish.

"Svart och svår, nitton år."

Maybe it's the warmer weather. All swedes are completely different season to season, it's like the entire country is replaced by new, either fresh or depressed souls four times a year - as you maybe already know if you have read my rants about how terrible the swedish winters are. I'm fresh now, I guess. How lovely.

My recent obsessions resulted in these simple coords, anyhow!

They look a little boring, I agree, and I apologize for that. I'm currently suffering through the worst cold - or whatever it is, I've been sick for more than a week now, might be the flu - I have had in years, so dressing up and leaving the house turned out to be a major challenge. Despite the simplicity I kind of liked them, though, so I'm at least giving myself an A for effort.

♡

♡

The leather skirt ( ← hello I am a link ) I'm wearing in the first picture is from Sheinside, as well as the striped long-sleeved top I'm wearing in the second picture.

♡

I'm going to share what set this ball rolling in my next post, this week, but I want to keep this and that separate, so that I can actually spit out a shorter post for once in my life. Also because it will be more neat that way, and it will make my perfectionist brain happy.

So, to end this post, I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you're all feeling a lot better than I am!

This week I've fallen off a stone wall and faceplanted the concrete, seen Maleficent, been to a rather wild party, power walked more than I should have and slept way too little. Kids, do not repeat my mistakes. Okay, Maleficent was so worth it, one of the best movies I have ever seen, and the party was worth it too, but . . . Let's just say I'm more dead than alive and a lot sicker than I was before I decided to be stupid.

Please be smarter than me, okay.
Lots of kisses to y'all!

See ya soon! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ ♡

s p r i n g ♡ t i m e + life recently + new Sheinside gets

As revealed in the title, here's a post about my life and spring and some outfits and clothes I wanted to share with you. Practical!

Speaking of which (the title), I should actually name this post "s u m m e r ♡ t i m e" instead of "s p r i n g ♡ t i m e" because I haven't had the pleasure to actually enjoy any kind of "spring time" for the past five years. I recall writing about how true "winter is coming" really is in Sweden. So, this is me reminding you. Ladies and gentlemen, it is 2014, and Sweden officially only has two seasons; summer and winter.

In other words, it's either "Winter is coming" or "Summer is coming", nothing in between.
Most of the time it's "Winter is coming" though. Always fear the winter.

Anyway. I swore to focus more on the positive and stop being so negative all the time a while back, didn't I?

So, summan av kardemumman, it's warm, the grass is green, the citizens of Stockholm have come out of their depressed caves and are now roaming the formerly deserted streets, armed with hipster ice lattes from hipster cafés, drugging their already wild children with sugary ice cream, filling the air with terror and love and sunshine.

Sarcasm aside, it is quite nice though. Stockholm is a truly remarkable city when the sun shines and pink, fluffy cherry blossoms have replaced the horrible snowflakes.

♡

♡

Kungsträdgården - "the king's garden" - is where you'll find the cherry blossoms every year. And, of course, hundreds of bloodthirsty, sun-deprived swedes and curious tourists with fanny-packs.

Pretty pretty pretty, isn't it?

Me, Emilia (@Pastelbat), Emma (@Loversrock), Fabian (@Tonfiskhelgon) and Jözz (@Thecarebearfag) spent a lovely afternoon by the fountain, taking ugly pictures and not doing anything productive whatsoever. Having spent the past couple of weeks more or less buried in books and frustration, it was nice to take some time off and enjoy a fair amount of Starbucks, sunshine and friends.

So that's pretty much my life recently. I can't complain.
I only have about a month left of school, I will most likely spent it out on the balcony with a cup of tea (no, it's never too warm for tea), spying on my neighbors while studying.

♡

All of this happy sunshine invading my bitter life also means it's time for some spring clothes.
So, since Sheinside.com have been kind enough to sponsor me with some more clothes, I thought I'd take the opportunity to give spring some room in my closet as well.

Say hello to my new lace jacket and black dress. ♪

The pins are from Taobao, Fatstatement.com and the big
"I want blood, guts and angel cake" pin is made by Pastelbat, Eyecandy.storenvy.com.
The grey dress is from H&M, the necklace from Innocent World, and the rest of
the accessories from eBay and Taobao.

I love the jacket to bits and pieces. It's still a little bit too cold to wear it without something a bit warmer, but when summer really attacks it'll be perfect. And I love how it looks with the pins, tempted to keysmash a bit here. The only negative thing is that I should have picked a smaller size on the dress, it's a bit loose and makes me feel kind of big at the moment. But I'll just use my sewing skills and fix it! It's still a gorgeous dress.

That's it for me this time my darlings!

As always, I hope you didn't get crushed under the weight of this word-packed post I just threw in your face. And, I hope your dark winter (or bright, depending on where you live, some lucky bastards don't even get ambushed by snow when winter comes, after all) is over, just like mine is.

Over and out. ♪( ´θ`)ノ

They have been nice enough to allow me to try on some of their awesome clothes and share them with you guys, which is what I'm going to do right here! ♪

Here's my very first "Sheinside outfit" - I will come up with a better name when I'm not so tired, I apologize on behalf of my brain.

I already posted it on Tumblr, but hey,
no harm in abusing this opportunity to write a bit more!

♡

The top says "PARENTAL ADVISORY", somewhere under my hair (find it → here), and I love it to d e a t h. I was worried about the size before it arrived, as I wasn't very familiar with the accuracy of the sizes of Sheinside clothes, but it wasn't too tiny nor too big, it was very lagom, as we say here in Sweden. Perfect. Plus, super comfy.

I suspect I will wear it a lot, allow me to say sorry in advance.

And then there's the skirt (lookie  → here). I have a love for patterns, can't help it. I thought it'd be a great contrast to the top, and I really like the result. Simple but kind of classy. I was a bit inspired by Juria-ish fashion, not sure if I succeeded, it might be too simple . . . but I like simple, so whatever.

You know, it feels good sharing more fashion thingies here? I never really know what to write, so I end up going crazy when inspiration hits me. As you may have noticed.

I have more tutorial like things I want to write though, so that will be a bit "on the same topic" as well. As for now, time to stop myself before writing too much.

One hour left of this week, so have a great next week! I just booked flight tickets to Japan so I am GOING CRAZY WITH HAPPINESS. This will be a good week. If you feel differently, soak up my excitement, I have enough to share with all 808 of you. Ok?! Ok.
